About Course

The Cardiovascular System (CVS) module is an integrated 1st year MBBS module designed according to the KMU modular curriculum and AIM Learning Framework. The module integrates Anatomy, Physiology and Biochemistry as core disciplines with relevant concepts from Histology, Embryology, Pathology, Pharmacology, Community Medicine and Clinical Correlation. Through clinically oriented themes including chest pain, breathlessness, blood pressure and palpitations, students develop an integrated understanding of the structure, function, regulation and common disorders of the cardiovascular system. The module emphasizes conceptual integration, clinical reasoning and spiral learning to prepare students for both professional examinations and future clinical practice.

Topic 6 — Cardiac Output, Venous Return and Heart Failure

Topic 7 — Blood Flow, Capillary Exchange, Lymphatics and Edema
