📘 Step 1 — Curriculum Coverage

This topic uses the AIM Learning Cycle to help MBBS students understand ECG interpretation and prevention of cardiovascular diseases by integrating Physiology and Community Medicine.

🔹 Physiology

 

• Describe the characteristics of normal ECG, time duration of waves, segments and voltages
• Explain how to record ECG
• Correlate AV nodal and ventricular conduction with normal ECG wave formation
• Interpret ECG paper and its calibration

🔹 Community Medicine

• Identify the major risk factors contributing to common cardiovascular diseases
• Enumerate modifiable and non-modifiable risk factors of cardiovascular diseases
• Apply primordial, primary, secondary and tertiary prevention of cardiovascular diseases in community
